Meet Your Occupational Therapist
Kristine Ching, MS, OTR/L
Owner, Lead Occupational Therapist
Kristine Ching is a Licensed Occupational Therapist with over 10 years of experience supporting Neurodiverse toddlers, children, and families.
-
Kristine completed her Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) coursework in 2014 and holds SIPT Certification #5264. The SIPT is considered the gold standard for evaluating sensory integration and praxis.
In 2022, Kristine was selected as an EASI (Evaluation in Ayres Sensory Integration®) data collector, qualifying her to administer and score the EASI assessment. The EASI measures sensory perception, postural, ocular, bilateral motor integration, praxis, and sensory reactivity while minimizing the influence of culture, language, and prior experience. The EASI is designed for children ages 3–12 years.
Kristine’s clinical work is grounded in Ayres Sensory Integration®, and she maintains ongoing collaboration and learning through professional organizations including STAR Institute for Sensory Processing, Collaborative for Leadership in Ayres Sensory Integration, Play Spark, and Learn Play Thrive.
-
Kristine completed the DIR® CL-1 Professional Certificate Program, a year-long advanced training focused on assessment and intervention for social-emotional development in infants, children, adolescents, and families, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration.
DIR Floortime® recognizes that every individual processes and experiences the world differently. Understanding these individual differences helps guide how we support regulation, engagement, and learning.
-
Kristine is a Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapist and Advocate. Neurodiversity-affirming practice recognizes that neurological differences such as autism, ADHD, learning differences, and sensory processing differences are part of natural human diversity.
Kristine meets children where they are and builds from their strengths, interests, and nervous systems. Therapy is child-led, playful, and rooted in connection—creating space for regulation, trust, and authentic growth.
Kristine is listed in the Therapist Neurodiversity Collective and aligns her work with the values of the Autistic Self Advocacy Network.
-
Kristine is certified to provide in-person and virtual Safe and Sound Protocol™ (SSP) sessions. SSP is an auditory intervention developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, designed to support nervous system regulation, reduce stress and auditory sensitivities, and enhance social engagement and resilience. SSP has been used to support individuals experiencing challenges with emotional regulation, behavioral organization, and auditory processing.
